Each serves a different purpose. Concealers are used to hide skin imperfections such as acne scars, birthmarks, dark circles, freckles, pimples, hyperpigmentation, and other skin discolorations. Foundations, on the other hand, are meant to create an even skin tone as well as lessen the appearance of skin pores by creating a smoothing effect.
Is Concealer Thicker Than Foundation?
Yes, concealers tend to be much denser than foundation as they need to be able to cover up any skin imperfections fully. You do not want to have your blemishes popping through your makeup.
Do you put on concealer before or after foundation?
It is best to apply the concealer before the foundation to fully cover up your scars before blending in your foundation. Some people also prefer to apply their concealer after they have applied their foundation. Ultimately, it comes down to how you prefer to wear your makeup, your makeup blending skills, the type of concealer, and foundation being used, as well as the severity of your blemishes.

Can concealer be used in place of foundation?
No. Concealers tend to be much heavier than foundation. Full face coverage using a concealer can lead to clogged pores, which may, in turn, lead to skin breakouts.
